Course content

TEGN2001 is based on TEGN1102 and TEGN1105. A central theme here is multilingualism and linguistic variation, both in the deaf community and in the Norwegian community, seen from both a linguistic and a "language and power" perspective. Students will be introduced to different ways that deaf/deaf blind/deafened people use their linguistic resources, both in the teaching and during practicum. Themes such as speech acts, linguistic structures and meaning creation will be discussed. Students will also work on their own linguistic resources and be made aware of how they can be used in different situations. Working with analysis of linguistic communication, discourse mapping will be used as a tool.
