TEK1314 - Climate and environment

Course content

Processes in the atmosphere (radiation, meteorology,ozone layer, greenhouse effect)
Climatic impact of current and future state of energy systems.
Measures for emission reductions and climate adaptation.

Learning outcome

Knowledge:
Have in-depth knowledge of the climate system's scientific basis and how the energy system affects climate.
Skills:
Can analyze and relate critically to different sources of information about climate change, and be able to structure and convey professional reasoning.
General competence:
Can communicate professional issues to specialists and the general public.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and group work.
2 obligatory assignments on predefined subjects must be accepted in order to register for the final examination.

Compulsory assignments

  • 2 assignments

Further on evaluation

Re-sit of written exam in August.
If 4 students or less, the re-sit exmination form will be altered to 30-45 min. oral examination.

If fail, approved compulsory assignments are valid.

Specific conditions

Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Technology Design and Management (BTEKD)
