Course content

Any student wishing to register for this course must first make an appointment with the academic staff present at NTNU in Gjøvik. The Project is defined in agreement with a supervisor at NTNU.Students are advised to contact academic staff at the Department of Manufacturing and Civil Engineering (IVB) at NTNU in Gjøvik in order to make an appointment for Project work.This must be done prior to the application.

Learning outcome

After completing the course the student will have experience from (knowledge and skills):- working individually or in a group to solve a challenging development problem- selecting and using the tools necessary to solve the problem- developing and assessing alternative solutions to the problem- documenting the results in a project reportGeneral competence: The student will have developed a positive attitude to working in a problem-oriented way and is familiar with relevant codes of ethics and professional conduct.

Learning methods and activities

Project work - The project status must be reported regularly to the supervisor(s). - The project supervisor may request that the report be presented to a general audience after completion - The project report will be assessed and evaluated by the supervisor at NTNU in Gjøvik.

Further on evaluation

A final report as well as an oral presentation of the project will form the basis for evaluation.

Required previous knowledge

The student must be signed up for a Bachelor's degree at a higher education institution (either NTNU or one of its partner institutions).
