Course content
The paramount objevtiv for the subject is to give the student knowledge, skills and attitude regarding safety management and maintenance of ships.
IMO.
ISM Code.
International and national rules and regulations.
Maintenance philosophy.
Planning of maintenance.
Work planning systems.
Material management systems.
Planning and execution of docking.
Romote controls of propulsion plant and engineering systems and services.
Learning outcome
Know of institutions controlling ship management, rules and regulations and classification rules.
Adapt the management of ships to the ISM Code requirements.
Give account for the relation between the companys objectives and the ships maintenance strategy.
Be able to use a maintenance system.
Have knowledge and understanding of operating principles of marine power plants, ships´ auxiliary machinery and general kowledge of marine engineering terms.
