About the course

Course content

Self-study course. The course includes selected topics in system and control theory, reflecting the needs of the individual PhD candidate.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The student shall develop a solid understanding of a theoretical domain within system and control theory. The theory shall be on an advanced level.

Skills: The student shall develop an ability to obtain in-depth understanding of advanced system and control theory and the ability to apply this on suitable problems.

Competence: The students will be able to participate in research and scientific discussions at a high level within a selected area, and be able to learn new topics within their research area and related areas.

Oral exam based on a presentation by the student followed by questions and discussions with the examiners.

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Engineering Cybernetics (PHTK)

Required previous knowledge

The student must be admitted, or qualified for admission, to the PhD programme in Engineering Cybernetics. This requires systems and control theory at Master level
