Course content
Use of sexstant and database-based programs for astronomical calculations
Learning outcome
Must have in-depth knowledge in classical and basic navigation methods in accordance with relevant sections of STCW Chapter II / 1 and II / 2 and STCW Code A-II / 1 Function Navigation at Operational Level and STCW Code A-II / 2 Function Navigation at the Management Level Skills - could solve theoretical, technical and practical issues related to basic navigation of ships. could use methods, simulators and other tools that provide the basis for navigating ships safely and efficiently and contribute to both analytical, structured, targeted and innovative work. General competence could convey knowledge in the subject area to different target groups, both written and oral in Norwegian and English, actively participating in academic discussions and ability to share their knowledge and experience with others and contribute to the development of good practice.

Compulsory submissions must be approved in order to pass the exam (number of submissions given at the start of the course). Practical exam in the use of sixth and database programs for astronomical calculations.
Specific conditions
Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.
