Course content
The course provides an introduction to design as a conception and profession. Creative methods, drawing, model building and presentation is practiced. Design methods and project work is treated in lectures and a practical design project where every student builds a product. Compulsory workshop course is included in the assignments.
Learning outcome
Knowledge: Candidates have a basic understanding of design concepts and design as profession.
Skills: Through exercises, the candidates have some exercise in the designer's way of thinking, working methods and communication techniques.
General qualifications: Candidates have basic safety knowledge and practical training in a prototype workshop.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, exercises, project, and an oral presentation of the results. 8 assignments must be completed to pass the course. The introductory course Teknostart and a workshop course is integrated in this course as a compulsory exercise.
Specific conditions
Admission to a programme of study is required:
Industriell design (MTDESIG)
Recommended previous knowledge
Limited to students of Industrial Design Engineering.
