About the course
Course content
The first part of the semester focuses on tools, methods and principles for graphic work and composition:
- Raster and vector graphics, layout, typography
The second part of the semester will consist of tools and techniques for 3D-modelling, and ways of visualising and presenting 3D-content. Parallels will be drawn to physical products and photography.
- CAD-modelling, material creation, lighting, rendering
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- Understanding how computer software can be used effectively in a design process
- Methods for visual presentation of physical and digital design work
- Understanding of workflow in relevant software
Skills:
- Creation and manipulation of vector and raster graphics
- Composing graphic elements in a layout
- Creation and presentation of 3D-geometry
Learning methods and activities
The lectures will demonstrate workflow in relevant software. Additional knowledge is acquired through online video resources, and tutoring.

Further on evaluation
Final evaluation is based on a three-day exam. All compulsory assignments must be approved to access the exam. If a student fails the exam, approved compulsory assignments will be valid for the next attempt.

The course is limited to students enrolled in the 5-year Master's Programme in Industrial Design.
