About the course

Course content

Methodology of product design and development.
Initiating Projects, strategic Design, Project Planning, Project Managment. Concept Development. Evaluation criterias for concepts on different stages of the development process.
Small-scale marketing within the context of how to run a design consultancy. Planning and budgetting of Consultancy Services

Learning outcome

The course aim is to develop knowledge and skills related to design projects. The focus is on Product Planning and Management, Design Thinking and use of advanced design methods. Collaboration with- small and medium-size Norwegian companies is an essential element of this course. Through experience on the field, students are expected to acquire skills in project management, networking, and communication.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, seminars, project work and optional model making. Students are expected to give a final presentation of their work at the end of the semester.
