About the course
Course content
Mechanics: The laws of motion at constant acceleration, Newtons laws, friction, inclinde plane, work and energi. Termodynamics: Temperature and heat, calorimetry and phase changes, heat capasity, internal energy and the first law of thermodynamics. Ideal gas laws. Electromagnetism: Ohms law, Kirchoffs rules, power, resistors in series and parallell.

Learning outcomes - Knowledge: The candidate has the necessary knowledge in the basic concepts and models in elementary physics. The candidate knows the central laws in the topics of the cource.
Learning outcomes - Skills: The candidate can solve phycical problems with matematics as a tool.
Learning outcomes - Expertise: The candidate can, in a thoughtful and reasoned way, use his knowledge and skills in handeling various tasks.

Teaching methods: Lectures and exercises.
Compulsory requirements: Compulsory exercises must be approved to get admission to the exam.

A 4 hour written exam.
Re-sit exam is in May/June. In the case of a written re-sit exam, the form can be changed to oral exam.

Generell studiekompetanse. Videre forventes det at studenten kjenner til grunnleggende algebra, trigonometri og vektoranalyse, eller at studenten setter seg inn i dette de første to ukene av kurset.
