Learning outcome

In this subject the student will get an introduction to the digital paradigm shift we are experiencing in the shipping industry. Digitalization is transforming the maritime world, enabling smart decision-making and also integrating the the global supply chain. Smart operations will be used to reduce costs and gain competitive edge. At the same time, we recognize that challenges lie ahead. How will the future ship owners and shipping offices operate? How will the vessels be handled and optimized? How will the autonomous race influence the supply Chain and the processes in the shipping industry?

After completion of the subject, the student will have knowledge and a holistic overview of how Technology and the shipping industry interact on optimisation of cost, economy and general resources.
