Course content
Historical development of the sector, monopolies, deregulation, the importance of broadband, the net-based global society and challenges. Networked communities as business strategy. Today's market pattern with global competition, regulation, particular business models, value creation and strategies. Technology development towards "Internet of Things". The importance of standards, scale and cooperation government - sector. Organization structure and cultures: The need for dynamics and change, organization development. Telco players in a financial perspective. ICT and environmental problems.
Learning outcome
A. Knowledge:
1) To get a basic understanding and overview over problems, challenges and strategy solutions in the borderland between information and communication technology (ICT), organisation, market and societal environment, with a focus on today's challenges.
2) To "meet real life" through lecturers from various parts of the business and subject matters.
3) To get a broad understanding of the sector and its importance for society and its development.
B. Skills:
1) To be able to communicate, reason and think creatively about the above mentioned topics.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and exercises. One compulsory assignment. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
