About the course
Course content
The course gives an introduction to analysis of elementary analog and digital circuits. It will give an basis for understanding and constructing simple systems of analog and digital electronic circuit elements. Central themes: Current and voltage, Kirchhoff's laws, methods of analysis for lineær static circuits, resistance, capacitance, inductance, diodes, MOSFET transistor as a switch, operational amplifiers, transient analysis, binary arithmetic, boolean algebra, logic gates, combinatorial and sequential digital circuits.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- The student can explain the principles for simple analog and digital circuits and explain how analog and digital circuits work together.
Skills:
- The student can design and analyse simple analog and digital circuits.
- The student can develop, implement, and test an electronic system.
Generell competance:
- The student can document the implementation and verification of an electronic system. . The student can orally explain the function and operation of simple electronic circuits.
Learning methods and activities
Student active forms of learning including lectures. Design and analysis with guidance including laboratory exercises. Laboratory exercises will be done using personal lab equipment.
