About the course
Course content
The subject deals with the unique characteristics of professions in various fields of study, where vocational breadth/depth and professional subjects are seen in relation to each other. Sustainable development, ethical issues, guidance, assessment, professional identity, and professional culture are emphasized based on the learning tradition of vocational training in different industries.
Learning outcome
Knowledge
The student has:
- Knowledge of the broad competence of professional vocational education and training, professional identity, and professional culture within their own educational program.
- Broad knowledge of work methods, processes, tools, and digital tools relevant to their own educational program.
- Knowledge of ethical and sustainable development and production within their own educational program.
- Knowledge of assessment forms in professional vocational education and training.
Skills
The student has:
- Insight into and can carry out central subject matter about professional practices within their own educational program.
- Insight into and can plan and carry out varied teaching and training using digital tools relevant to their own educational program.
- Insight into and can assess ethical issues and make sustainable choices within their own educational program.
- Insight into and can apply assessment/assessment criteria and document professional vocational education and training that contributes to students’/apprentices’ reflection on their own learning.
General Competence
The student can:
- Facilitate professional vocational training and the use of digital tools, anchored in their own educational program.
- Facilitate varied training in different learning environments in collaboration between school and business/enterprises within their own educational program.
- Carry out relevant professional and ethical issues in vocational education.
- Guide, assess, and document vocational education and training that contributes to students’/apprentices’ reflection on their own learning
Learning methods and activities
Learning Methods and Activities
The subject includes teaching and learning activities during gatherings. Parts of the subject involve vocational orientation within various fields of study. There will be individual work and group work between gatherings.
The coursework requirements are assessed as approved/not approved. All coursework requirements must be approved in order to take the exam.

- Written assignment individually and/or in a group

Individual assignment
The exam is assessed individually according to grading scale A-F, where the grades A-E are passed and the grade F is fail.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Vocational Teacher Education (BYRK)
Required previous knowledge
Requires admission to the vocational teacher education - bachelor's programme.
Students must have passed YFL1010
