About the course
Course content
The practical training includes vocational practice in a company/enterprise and pedagogical practice in upper secondary education. Guidance is an integral part of the course. The purpose of the course is to further develop the student’s prerequisites for providing vocationally relevant education, guidance, and instruction within their own field of study/educational program.
Learning outcome
Knowledge The student has:

Skills The student can:
- Analyze and adapt various working methods in vocational education that are tailored to individual learning needs and prerequisites
- Plan, assess, and document education and help students/apprentices reflect on their own learning and professional development
- Use various guidance strategies in education within school and working life
General Competence The student can:
- Build good relationships and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders relevant to education
- Reflect on and develop their own guidance practice in response to the students’/apprentices’ prerequisites, interests, and needs
- Plan, justify, and lead relevant and vocationally anchored education tailored to the students’/apprentices’ prerequisites, interests, and needs
Learning methods and activities
The total number of practice days is 40 days. All practice is mandatory and must be supervised. During vocational pedagogical practice, the student will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a minimum of 20 teaching hours. Vocational practice is documented through exercises.
Compulsory assignments
- 20 days of completed vocational teaching practice in upper secondary school (autumn)
- 20 days of completed practice in a company/business (spring)
- Completed professional interview 2 (autumn)
Further on evaluation
Passing the course requires approved mandatory activities. Final assessment: Pass/Fail
