Social work

The Bachelor's Degree Programme in Social Work is a programme of professional study.

Social work is a practical-based profession and an academic subject area that shall promote social changes and development. Principles about social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversity, combined with a multidisciplinary theoretical foundation lays the foundation for social worker's competence when they assist children, adults, groups and local communities. 

Teaching methods in this study are lectures, group work, skills training, seminars, written assignments, self-study, project work and supervised professional training. Part of the study is compulsory.

Language of instruction: Norwegian

You have to meet the Norwegian language requirements, or have a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue, if you want to apply to any of NTNU’s degree programmes taught in Norwegian.

The application deadline for the programme is April 15th. Students apply through Samordna Opptak.
