Over two years, you will:

  • Specialize in either Chemistry (e.g. organic or theoretical chemistry) or Ecotoxicology and Environmental Chemistry.
  • Gain hands-on experience through lab work, fieldwork, and a 60 ECTS master’s thesis.
  • Learn to use advanced analytical tools, modeling techniques, and digital resources.
  • Understand the environmental fate of chemicals and their effects on organisms and ecosystems.
  • Explore how climate change and pollution interact, especially in Arctic environments.
  • Participate in seminars, excursions, and interdisciplinary learning activities.
  • Have the opportunity to study at UNIS in Svalbard, focusing on Arctic environmental issues.

Short introduction to the programme

MSCET, Master in Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, have two specializations;

  • Chemistry
  • Ecotoxicology and Environmental Chemistry

This master’s program provides in-depth study in key areas of chemistry, such as advanced studies in e.g. organic, inorganic, and theoretical chemistry – or you can choose an interdisciplinary specialization in environmental chemistry and environmental toxicology. The program combines theory, laboratory work, and collaboration across disciplines, giving you the competence to address real environmental challenges.
