Background and activities

My main research interests are linked to bioenergy systems modelling and sustainability analysis, especially focused on Life Cycle Assessment of biomass, biofuels, and biorefineries. It includes development and application of models and metrics to assess environmental performance of present and future bioeconomy alternatives envisioned for the global energy system. In this area, special emphasis is given to methods to capture the interconnections between supply chains, economy, and environment, aiming to a better understanding of the complexities of the land-energy-climate nexus.
