The Department of Materials Science and Engineering is Norway's leading educational and research institution in materials science and technology.
We teach and do research on the manufacture of new and the improvement of existing materials in chemistry, electrochemistry and metallurgy. We look at how we use and recycle materials and material resources, and how we can reduce energy consumption and emissions during production and recycling.
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering is one of eight departments at the
Faculty of Natural Sciences.
