About NMHM

This NORHED II Project is the continuation of NORHED I, created by Professor Jon Øyvind Odland to improve Maternal and Neonatal Health in Malawi (MNHM).

The project focuses on two universities in Malawi: the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) formerly known as Kamuzu College of Nursing. The project also includes the University of Zambia, School of Nursing (UNZA-SoN) in an effort to promote south-to-south collaboration.

The project aims to build capacity to develop and implement training programs in nursing, midwifery, medical microbiology, and obstetric ultrasound, as well as conduct world-class research at these universities.

There are four work packages (WPs):

WP1: Management and Administration, is led by the NTNU team;

WP2: Quality training and research, is conducted by all partners;

WP3: Preparation of quality graduates, includes all partners;

WP4: Results dissemination and outreach, includes all partners.

The project is expected to impact society by building the capacity of professionals that will contribute to a positive maternal and neonatal outcome.
