BEV8005 - Modern Measurement Techniques in Human Movement Science

New from the academic year 2011/2012

Course content

The course contains methods and applications of signals collected with modern measurement techniques in human movement science. Dependent on the participants and institutes interests, methods in kinetics, kinematics, muscle activation and/or oxygen consumption will be thought.
There will be 3 obligatory sessions. In the first session, students will present articles about the background of specific equipment. In the second session, students will give presentations about different applications and how to process and interpret the obtained signals. In the third session, students will present how this equipment can be used in a specific scientific project.

Learning outcome

The aim of the course is to develop further knowledge about and understanding of different types of modern measurement techniques to investigate human movement. This includes knowledge about equipment characteristics, how one should use the equipment and how to process, present and interpret the collected signals.

Learning methods and activities

Three sessions of lectures, seminars and discussions. Part of the course is taught in English, and the whole course can be taught in English if requested. The course is offered when teaching resources are available and sufficient persons are registered.
