Course content
- planning as a shaping and management tool - the management levels - municipal decision-making process - municipal land and resource management - impact assessment - universal design - aesthetics in planning and construction matters - data basis for digital plans - digital landscape analyzes - digital terrain modeling - digital spatial and road planning - plan data in 2D and 3D
Learning outcome
Knowledge Students have broad knowledge of: - Central and current topics and issues within the planning subject - The basis for the development of cities and towns in Norway - The administrative and political level of administration and decision-making in Norway - The primary municipality's responsibility in the planning hierarchy - Basic theories and methods and concepts planning subject - Laws, standards and supervisors that apply to the subject area - About the subject area's ethical environmental challenges - Regulations, standards and supervisors for preparation of digital area plans Skills Students should be able to - Apply professional knowledge in practical and theoretical issues - Perform registration and analysis work in connection with planning and assessment tasks. - Perform simple planning tasks according to the Planning and Building Act - Establish a digital terrain model and apply the terrain model in the area plan work - prepare and produce an area plan in digital form according to current regulations - Present digital plan data using digital tools in both 2D and 3D General competence Students can: - understand the structure and use of digital terrain models and digital GIS tools in spatial planning and visualization - Use professional sources, professional methods, current laws and regulations for planning. - Search, process and evaluate information critically - Master the subject area's norms for documentation
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and literature studies as a basis for individual assignments and group work. Inspections, participation in political meetings, role-plays combined with practical tasks Individual exercises and a larger independent task in selected software. Mandatory activities Digital workbook (portfolio) which must contain compulsory work requirements for the entire semester. Assignments are announced through e-learning tools. The assignments will be related to the subject of the subject and can be individual assignments or group work. - Up to 5 theoretical and practical assignments (individual or in group) - Sketch project of small planning area designed as group work - Individual zoning plan assignment in digital tool
