About the course

Course content

Mathematical models for description of the behaviour of reinforced concrete. Cracking criteria, failure criteria, nonlinear stress-strain description, reinforcement modelling. The finite element method for nonlinear problems.

Learning outcome

Give an overview of existing knowledge wrt nonlinear modelling of reinforced concrete with finite element method applications.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures.
Compulsory exercises and project work. The lectures and exercises are in English when students who do not speak Norwegian take the course.
