Course content
The course provides an introduction to organizational theory with a focus on technology management. The course also gives students theoretical and practical insight into group work and group dynamic processes, as well as a basic understanding of project management and change management.
Learning outcome
The subject's position and function in the study: The subject is compulsory in the 2nd year of the study program MTIØT. The subject must convey the following knowledge: General knowledge of organizational theory, specific knowledge of models for organizational structure and historical development in this area. Specific knowledge of models for HR management, motivation theories and personnel management. Specific knowledge of technology management. Basic knowledge of project management and teamwork. Other important learning objectives: Through a larger project work in a real company, the students will acquire training in analyzing the state of a company, and learn to make written arguments about professional challenges and alternative solutions to these. The students also acquire skills in collaborating in teams as part of the project work.

Lectures and written exercises. The excercises are compulsory and done in groups.

Further on evaluation
The overall assessment in the course consists of a school examination.
There are two compulsory exercises that must be approved before the candidate can take the exam. The exercises are carried out in groups where the first exercise is about teamwork and the second exercise is an organizational analysis of a real company. For re-sit examination, the examination may be changed to oral. The student is only entitled to a postponed exam in partial assessments that have not been passed or in the event of a valid absence. For voluntary repetition of the exam, all parts of the course must be taken again.

Recommended previous knowledge
The course is obligatory for all students at Industrial Economics and Technology Management. Only students at Industrial Economics and Technology Management can attend the course.
