Course content
The bachelor thesis gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in vocational issues and develop and test teaching in their school practice. Professional practice can also provide the opportunity for professional deepening and data collection. The course should provide a basis for mapping, implementing, documenting and evaluating development and change work in schools and companies. The candidate will develop a change and development competence which means being able to contribute to professional and educational development and to be able to participate in and lead development projects. This competence also includes being able to assess the status and development of the subjects and the teaching profession in relation to the development of society.
The bachelor thesis is carried out as a group work with 3 participants, unless there are no specific reasons to deviate from this. It is also possible to form groups across the fields of study

The candidate has the following overall learning outcomes:
Knowledge
The student
- has knowledge of various theoretical perspectives and relevant research and development work related to teaching and training in the subjects / professions
- has knowledge of different research methods
- has knowledge of the collection and use of relevant literature for the development of own teaching
- has knowledge of the need for updating within their own profession and educational program
Skills
The student
- is able to use relevant research results, make informed choices and carry out a professional development work under supervision
- is able to plan, implement, assess and document change and development work in school and education
- can immerse himself/herself in a vocational subject and use this knowledge to prepare students for steps 8-13 that cover relevant competence objectives
- can apply their vocational, educational, vocational didactic and technological skills in line with society's development and change needs in professional and vocational subjects
- can present greater development work through written reporting and oral presentation
General competence
The student
- can raise occupational ethics and didactic issues, investigate and discuss these critically through theoretical and research-based knowledge to further develop their own practices and contribute to the development of the school and the business / enterprise
- can identify their learning and competence needs and disseminate knowledge in their field of study
- has change and development skills as a basis for meeting the future needs of school, work and community life
- is able to evaluate and use digital aids and presentation techniques
Learning methods and activities
The working methods vary and may include joint lectures, workshop, bachelor seminar, work in groups, presentations etc. Group and individual guidance will be central to the work on the bachelor thesis. A more detailed description of the content of the subject and compulsory activities is described in more detail in a separate guidance booklet.
Compulsory activities
OBL 1, attendance: 80% attendance at joint activity
OBL 2, work in progress: Project sketch and gallery walk
OBL 3, defined work requirements: presentation at conference

Further on evaluation
Assignments are given in Norwegian and the assessment answer can be written in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. The assignment can be processed once and resubmitted

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Vocational Teacher Education (BYRK)
Required previous knowledge
Passed courses in the first and second academic years and passed professional pedagogical and vocational practice in the first and second academic years
