The Department of Experts in teams is an interdisciplinary academic environment with 25 employees, 16 teaching assistants, and approximately 200 learning assistants.

Our main focus in education is the course Experts in Teamwork (EiT). We work on course quality and developing the pedagogical practice, train the teaching staff, and administrate the course across the whole university. We also offer courses, classes, and seminars for students, university staff, and external participants. NTNU, through Experts in Teamwork, was awarded the prize for Education Quality in 2021 by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.

Research in the department is carried out by an interdisciplinary research group. They contribute new insights on teamwork, interdisciplinarity, innovation, learning, and teaching, for higher education, industry, and the public sector.

The Department of Experts in teams is a partner in Engage – Centre for Engaged Education through Entrepreneurship. Engage is a Centre for Excellence in Education for the period 2017–2026.
