Basanta Raj Pokhrel
Background and activities
Basanta Raj Pokhrel is Researcher at the Department of Electrical Power Engineering and is associated with National Smart Grid Laboratory. He has a PhD in Energy Technology from Aalborg University, Denmark and a master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Kathmandu University, Nepal / NTNU Norway.
In his PhD dissertation, issues from DSO perspective in the emerging scenario in electricity network such as huge data handling, network observability with minimum measurements, active network management and optimized operation, and TSO-DSO interoperability and coordination have been investigated. His main research interest is in real time monitoring of electricity grid for the utilization of utmost flexibility and the resources available in modern power system network.
