Background and activities

Jun Ma is an Associate Professor at NTNU – Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He joined NTNU as a postdoctoral fellow in Sept 2019 and was promoted to a faculty member in Sept 2021. Before he joined NTNU, Jun studied at Northwestern Polytechnical University, China, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, and received his PhD in mechanical engineering. Jun's research endeavour is more on exploring advanced manufacturing processes, in particular flexible forming of lightweight and sustainable products, seeking the epistemological understanding of the physical essence in the entire production chain as well as developing Industry 4.0-based control strategies towards an improvement in dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties of products, productivity, and sustainability.
