About

Dr Mari-Ana Jones is Associate Professor in Organisation and Leadership in the Education Sector at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). At NTNU, Dr Jones leads the Educational Leadership team, and has responsibility for the national headteacher training programme and the Master’s in Educational Leadership. She is also academic co-ordinator for a national network of publicly funded PhD candidates within the field of education (NATPRONET).

Dr Jones researches a broad range of topics connected to educational leadership, including the leadership of learning and development in educational organisations, leading professional learning communities, co-creative leadership practices, leading partnerships within education and leading for participation and social justice. She works closely with educational practitioners and has a range of partnership projects with the aim of co-creating knowledge about voice and participation in education contexts. Dr Jones has produced academic and practice-focused publications (including her PhD dissertation) about student voice and participation, both in English and in Norwegian. Recently she has embarked on research relating to experiences of student participation in teacher education and is leading a research project at NTNU on co-creating assessment practices with students in higher education.
