About

Marleen Wierenga completed her PhD at Aalto University, with her dissertation research focusing on low-income entrepreneurship in India and on Finnish start-ups with innovations for the global South. After receiving her PhD, she worked as an assitant professor in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, at the Radboud University. Marleen is interested in grand sustainability challenges and the ways different types of organizations approach, operate in and cope with these challenges in the complex global business environment. This is manifested in ongoing projects for example on impact investing, entrepreneurship and innovation for low-income communities in emerging markets and corporate social innovation.
