Mika Serna Malmer
About
Mika Serna Malmer is a PhD candidate in the research group FACET at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He is working at the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Solid State Batteries, under supervison of Professor Daniel Rettenwander. His research activities are within battery technology, with focus on pouch cells for scaling solid-state batteries.
Teaching
Mika is involved in the following teaching activities at the univeristy:
- TMT4111/4115 General Chemistry: Laboratory head and research assistant (2024-2025)
- TMT4130 Inorganic Chemistry: Research assistant (2024-2026)
Committee positions
Mika holds the following committee positions at the university:
- Representative for temporary scientific staff in the department board of Department of Materials Science and Engineering (2024-2025)
- Representative in the research committee of Faculty of Natural Sciences (2024-2026)
Background
Mika graduated with a Master of Science degree from NTNU in 2023, with a specialisation in Materials Chemistry and Energy Technology. The topic of his master's thesis was on combining the high voltage cathode material LNMO with alternative electrolytes in Li-ion batteries, under supervision of Professor Ann Mari Svensson.
