About

CV

Ali has extensive experience in data engineering and informatics in general and more specifically in data science, data-driven innovation and machine learning and data-engineering.

In addition to Associate Professor II at NTNU, Ali is a senior data scientist at Kantega. The research and teaching work is aimed at various branches of computer science and general computer engineering. What the research activities have in common is that they have been aimed at practical applications and real data.

He has extensive experience as a computer scientist, data engineer and system developer and extensive experience with the use of machine learning (ML) and deep learning-based search solutions, algorithms and models and developing / productionizing them. He has also worked with all three major cloud technologies namely AWS (Loopfront), Azure (Kantega and BankID) and Google Cloud (Evry). Ali has experience with machine learning programming languages such as Python and R as well as object-oriented languages such as Java and C# .NET. Also have used SQL in a good part of experience.

Ali has a Ph.D. in information retrieval and computer science from NTNU 2013, an M.Sc in applied mathematics at the Center of Mathematics for Application (CMA) from the University of Oslo 2008 and a B.Sc in computer science and engineering from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences also known as FAST in Karachi, Pakistan.

He is passionate about deep learning, data analysis, computer science and engineering and programming in general and always looking for the optimal way to do things.

Ali is outgoing, has a good mood and is easy to work with. He describes himself as a "complete package" and has a very good combination of technical and interpersonal qualities.
