Oddrun Bråtens research consists of international and comparative studies about religion and education, empirical classroom studies and action research, and lately also studies that focuses on worldviews in education. Empirical classroom studies and international and comparative perspectives are combined especially through her methodology for comparative studies which was developed as part of her PhD thesis, and includes four levels of education nationally (societal, formal, instructional, and experiential level), and three dimensions of education being “local, national and supranational (that which transcends the national dimension”. She currently leads NTNU RE Research group.
Her PhD is from the University of Warwick and her masters degree is in Religious Studies at the University of Bergen. She is a member of ISREV and ENRECA, and Norwegian RE-Research forum (NoReFo). Also asociated with EASR and IAHR.
