I am a PhD candidate at the department for interdisciplinary cultural studies. I study AI applications in labor market, exploring the bias issues in the context of Human Resources Management in the Horizon Europe project entitled BIAS Mitigating Diversity Biases of AI in the Labor Market.
My research investigates the interaction among developers, users, and digital artefacts, including specific AI applications, the usage of these applications, and the power dynamics in the network of humans and digital technology. One of my major concerns is the bias issue that appears during the mediation, interpretation, and negotiation among actors, and I will thus identify and analyze the sociotechnical bias.
I have an interdisciplinary background in media studies and communication, intellectual property law, and anthropology. I received my master’s degree from University College London, where I majored in digital anthropology. My master thesis was a digital ethnography on the intimate relationship among AI chatbot Replika, users and developers.
