Vilma Zubinaite

Associate Professor at the Department of Manufacturing and Civil Engineering since 2013, with a research focus on digital traceability and material information quality in the built environment.
Research Interests
My primary research interest is in how digitalisation can support material traceability in the built environment - investigating what digital technologies enable the tracking and verification of material information across the building lifecycle. Specifically, I am examining what digital technologies can enable the traceability of timber products across their lifecycle, and what limitations affect their reliability and suitability in practice. I am also concerned with information quality more broadly - how data about materials is generated, structured, and maintained across digital construction processes, and what is required for that data to be reliable and fit for purpose.
My background is in geomatics and GNSS positioning, with expertise in measurement science and spatial data quality.
