3 more PhD positions in SFI FAST available!

There are currently two PhD positions available at The Department of Structural Engineering at NTNU. The first position is in Modelling Plastic Flow and Fracture in Recycled Aluminium Alloys and the second position is in Modelling fillet Welds in Aluminium Structures.

There is a PhD position available at The Department of Materials Science and Engineering as well, in Microstructure/texture evolution during extrusion of scrap-based Aluminium.

SFI FAST are hiring the two first PhD's in the centre!

SFI FAST has just announced the two first PhD positions in the centre: The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MTP) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has two vacancies for PhD candidates within aluminium extrusion and forming, funded through the Centre for Research-based Innovation SFI FAST – Future Aluminium Structures. The positions are 3-year doctoral research fellowships starting in 2026. The PhD candidates will be embedded in the forming research activities of SFI FAST and will work closely with NTNU, SINTEF, and leading international industrial partners in the aluminium value chain. NTNU og SINTEF etablerer nå, sammen med en rekke industripartnere, SFI FAST – Future Aluminium Structures, et nytt forskningssenter som skal gjøre det mulig å bruke langt mer resirkulert aluminium i biler, energi-infrastruktur og store konstruksjoner. Målet er betydelige kutt i CO₂-utslipp og økt verdiskaping for norsk industri.
