Global Campaign against Headache

Healthcare interventions

Headache disorders are common and disabling – collectively, they are in the top five causes of disability worldwide. Although good healthcare can greatly reduce this burden, it still persists everywhere. The principal reason is that healthcare systems, which should provide this care, simply do not reach many who need it.

Our intervention programme reaches into the following areas.

  • Evidence base for treatment

    • Evidence of efficacy
    • Cost-effectiveness
  • Service delivery

    • Service organisation and delivery
    • Service quality evaluation
  • Practical interventions
