Global Campaign against Headache

Healthcare needs assessment

There is high need for effective healthcare for the very large numbers of people whose lives are damaged by headache. Assessing this need correctly is a priority requirement if resources are to be allocated adequately, efficiently and equitably.

The necessary steps in healthcare needs assessment for headache disorders are first the recognition and description of those that contribute to public ill-health and disability and second the measurement of the burdens they impose.

Our research programme reaches into all these areas.

  • Classifying headache

    • Headache in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11)
  • Describing the burden of headache

    • Database for burden-of-headache studies
