NTNU Health and Life Sciences - Precision Medicine

Precision medicine for a sustainable healthcare system.
How can we ensure that only patients who are likely to benefit from a treatment actually receive it? Personalised treatment reduces side effects and avoids unnecessary burden on the patient and the healthcare system. Our goal is to target treatments to those who will benefit, and to treat only diseased tissue without harming healthy tissue.
We combine advanced genetic and molecular technologies with various imaging techniques. Experimental work is supported by theoretical models, simulations, and artificial intelligence. This allows us to identify biomarkers that make it possible to tailor treatments to individual patients.
