Additional Opportunities

Additional Opportunities

The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) would like to inform you of a new opportunity for enhancing your collaboration between Norway and Canada further.

SIU and Mitacs Canada collaborates on a new initiative: the Norway-Canada Globalink Partnership Award. Through Globalink, Norwegian and Canadian graduate students can apply for research grants of $15,000CAD to do internships with industry in the partner country.

The goal of Globalink is to strengthen international research collaborations between leading industry and academic organizations in Norway and Canada, by providing:

  •         An opportunity for Canadian and Norwegian researchers to connect with each other and with global industry.
  •         International research experience for a participating student, who undertakes a 16- to 24-week research project at the industry partner’s offices or facilities (and applicable participating universities)
  •         A $15,000 CAD research grant to support student travel and accommodation expenses, research-related expenses, and a student stipend.

Full program information and the Globalink application form can be found on Mitacs' Globalink website. Please visit the Globalink page for students travelling from Norway to Canada or students travelling from Canada to Norway to start the application process.

Please contact SIU at noram@siu.no or Mitacs at international@mitacs.ca if you have a prospective Globalink project that you would like to discuss. We will provide assistance throughout the application process to help you develop your Globalink project.
