The Department of Modern History and Society offers education, research and communication in the field of modern history. In collaboration with the Department of Historical and Classical Studies we give lectures and supervision to students in history and history with teacher education programme. In 2023 the department started a new master's programme called War and Society, in collaboration with the Norwegian Defense University College.

Our students and employees collaborate to create education, research and dissemination of high quality from an active research environment.
