As a PhD candidate at The Department of Marine Technology (IMT) you will contribute to research that makes a real impact. 

IMT has a world-leading research and education environment within within marine technology, areas vital to the Norwegian economy and the world’s future.

As part of our PhD community, you will:

  • Work with internationally recognized researchers at the forefront of their fields
  • Gain access to modern laboratories and the largest civilian marine research centre in the Western world
  • Join an international research community of around 70 PhD candidates from all over the world
  • Develop expertise highly valued in academia, industry, and the public sector

The PhD programme normally runs for three years and combines coursework with independent research leading to your doctoral thesis.

NTNU Offshore Wind Doctoral School

NTNU offshore wind doctoral training school provides an organized programme tailored for PhD students in offshore wind field.

You get an introduction to the offshore wind activities at NTNU Faculty of Engineering, find relevant PhD courses, engage with other PhDs from different departments and have a quick start in your course works.

The school is hosted at NTNU Department of Marine Technology with support from professors in different departments and disciplines.
