NTNU - Department of Language and Literature - SuperGramm Group
SuperGramm Group
The SuperGramm Group is a collaborating group of linguists at the forefront of researching and teaching language, pivoting on aspects of grammar.
Teaching grammatical templates to language students affects the speed of acquisition, ultimate levels of acquisition and literacy, and elevated metalinguistic competence. Positive impact hinges on the grammatical knowledge of the teacher, and the SuperGramm Group aims to provide teachers with the 1) necessary knowledge and understanding of the relevant grammar, and 2) the tools to teach this grammar in a pedagogical and accessible way.
The SuperGramm Group pilots a new approach to teaching grammar encompassing first and second languages, providing new perspectives on the nature and role of grammar in language as a device for acquiring, storing and sharing information, i.e. communication. We also develop learning materials on this approach, cf. the textbook Språket som superkraft, [Language is your Superpower] (Eide 2022 (Norwegian edition), Eide and Rosenkvist 2025 (Språket som superkraft, Swedish edition)).
