Music Technology

Research activities within music technology explores fertile meeting points between music performance and technological innovation. The focus is on exploring interaction and communication between digital and acoustic musicians, primarily in an improvisational context.

Our research produce new practices for performing advanced tools for audio processing and academic analysis of relations between performers and audience.

Our research group includes performing musicians, technologists and musicologists from the Department of Music, but is also reaching out to a growing network of cooperating researchers and institutions in USA, England and Ireland.

Music Technology has its own recording studio and other audio laboratories.
