Aluminium process and alloy design - Fellows Initiative Natural Sciences (FINS)
Aluminium process and alloy design
Prof. Marthinsen has more than 30 years of experience in teaching and research in material physics and materials science and engineering.
His research interests and fields of expertise include quantitative electron diffraction and microscopy as well as advanced characterization (mainly by scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM/TEM)) of materials nano-/micro-structure and its relation to material properties. Current research activities are mainly related to the development and application of physically based computer models (including atomistic modelling) for the evolution of microstructure and texture during thermomechanical processing of aluminium alloys, including models for precipitation, work hardening, recrystallization and grain growth.
