About Computer Science

About Computer Science

Today's society is totally dependent on good IT solutions. As a computer scientist, you are expected to know how computer systems are designed, modelled and programmed. Computer systems communicate and create new opportunities for people. During the one-year programme you will learn the most basic of computer studies.

Students have the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of development and maintenance of web solutions, publishing and visual presentation across platforms and technologies, development processes and methods in media and information technology. You should be able to update and further develop the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in this area. You will also have some knowledge of media technology's history, character and place in society.

You will through the topics this year be able to apply knowledge about the development of solutions for the web platform and be able to attack the theoretical issues and make informed choices. You should be able to reflect upon your own professional practice and be able to locate, assess and refer to information and technical material and present it so that it highlights a problem. You should also be able to master the most important academic tools, techniques and forms of expression relevant to work in IT-based development projects.

Language of instruction is mainly Norwegian. A one-year study programme is not well suited for student exchange, but adjustments can be made.
