About the course

Course content

The course introduces developing of zoning plans according to the Planning and Building Act. Teaching provides knowledge on site analyses, urban design of buildings and public spaces, infrastructure for transport and the planning process concerning different actors roles in cooperation and participation processes.

Learning outcome

KnowledgeThe candidate has thorough knowledge of which requirements that are included in zoning planning acording to the Planning and Building Act. SkillsThe candidate is able to prepare analyzes and documents for zoning plans and to handle planning tools for development and presentation of zoning plans and can cooperate in and perform interdisciplinary planning processes. General qualificationsThe candidate can solve zoning planning tasks in different contexts and different circumstances and can communicate well in interdisciplinary participation and cooperation processes.

Learning methods and activities

Exercises in groups, lectures and excursions.

Further on evaluation

The exercise counts 50% towards the final grade in the course. Both exercises and written exam must be passed to pass the course. You can register for a re-scheduled examination in the next exam period.When exercises have been passed, grading will be valid for 1,5 years and might be included for a re-scheduled exam.
