Course content
- 10" Building site studies and - investigations
- 40% Materials, construction and aesthic.
- 40% Program, function and concept.
- 10% Tectonical theory.
Teaching in building physics and building materials is held parallel and coordinated with Arkitektur 3.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- Theory and history of the idea of Tectonics.
- Basic knowledge of the property, the application and the aesthetic of building materials.
Skills:
- Applying a variation of working methods underlining the Experimenting and Artistic Method of the course.
- Proporsioning of space and spacial relations.
- Applying of the properties of building materials as a sourse of creating Architecture.
Generel competance:
- Application of theoretical and practical knowledge as well as use of individual skills and experiences in a creative formingproces, investigating architectonical possibilities.
- Ability to collect and to apply neccesary practical and theoretical knowledge of: building materials, buildingphysics, building technology, and aestechics in a creativ forming proces.
- Ability to work independtly and to work in team.
- Conciousnes of studying and working on an ethical foundation.
Learning methods and activities
The basic way of learning is experimenting, research and project development. The methods are drawing, writing, photography, CAD, model building. There will be lectures, seminars, workshop training in addition to workshop exercises. Students will work individually and in groups. The supervision will follow this pattern. There will be plenary presentations at various levels of the development process. As the projects are not realistic in the sense of a demand of a final product there will be openness to what to produce and present.

Postponed examinations are usually scheduled for the next regular exam period.
