- Competitive advantage and trade - Imperfect competition, economies of scale and trade- New economic geography- International trade and innovation- The political economy of trade policy- Financial and economic globalization: challenges- Optimum currency areas and the Euro

Learning outcome - Knowledge- Master the terminology of the subject - Acquire general knowledge of the different theoretical models that can explain trade patterns- Acquire in-depth knowledge of new economic geography models - Acquire in-depth knowledge of links between international trade, cooperation and innovation- Acquire knowledge of how to design and test hypotheses connected to international economicsLearning outcome - Skills- Be able to analyse problems within international economics by using relevant models- Be an active and interesting discussant for international business actors- Be able to communicate and explain fundamental issues of international economicsLearning outcome - General competence- Be able to view the topics of this course in a larger business/economic professional perspective- Be able to view the topics of this course in a larger social perspective- Be able to acquire updated knowledge within the above mentioned areas of knowledge and skills
