We are looking forward to welcoming our new students to semester start. 

Due to the current situation with the pandemic, this year's matriculation ceremony will be digital.   

We want everyone to get a good start and be part of the student community at NTNU, even if you have to follow the lectures digitally the first semester from your home country.

For the Norwegian students the orientation will be held on campus. Save the dates Thursday 13th and Friday 14th for on campus activities.

For international students the first semester will be digital.

How to learn norwegian

NTNU has various part-time classes to help you learn Norwegian as a second language, including a free online course. 

NTNU organises an orientation programme for new international students every August and January. Orientation Days is a lot of fun and an excellent way for you to get to know NTNU. We strongly encourage all new international students to attend Orientation Week.

About International Business and Marketing

Are you interested in the intricacies of international business? Are you curious about how customer-focused innovation and entrepreneurship lead to new business models and start-ups? Do you see the need for digital skills in working in either of these areas? Is sustainability in business important to you? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the MSc in International Business and Marketing (“Siviløkonom”) program at NTNU in Ålesund may be for you.


Admission requirements

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree in business administration, or equivalent, with at least 120 ECTS in business administration and economics subjects. Applicants with a bachelor's degree from non-Norwegian/Nordic schools must document a GMAT or GRE test.


Job prospects

The program provides opportunities for careers in international business, marketing, innovation and entrepreneurship. You will develop expertise that allows you to choose to work in Norway or abroad, with highly attractive competence, including an understanding of international business, marketing, innovation, sustainability, digital skills and how to work effectively in teams. You can work at different levels in an organization including corporate management. The program accordingly opens up different career paths.


Program components

The Master of Science programme in International Business and Marketing/"Siviløkonom" is a two year programme, which awards a total of 120 ECTS credits, 30 credits per term over four terms.You can choose between two majors:

  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship
